CERT in Action
![]() The Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) Program educates people about disaster preparedness for hazards that may impact their area and trains them in basic disaster response skills, such as fire safety, light search and rescue, team organization, and disaster medical operations. Using the training learned in the classroom and during exercises, CERT members can assist others in their neighborhood or workplace following an event when professional responders are not immediately available to help. CERT members also are encouraged to support emergency response agencies by taking a more active role in emergency preparedness projects in their community. Photo AlbumsClick here for links to various Bristol CERT photo albums. These images were taken from a variety of activities, such as CERT holiday parties to events for which CERT was activated to help the community, to disasters that have struck the City of Bristol. Links will open in a new window. Many more pictures are available on our Facebookpage too. The City of Bristol Cert team volunteers their time to assist with traffic control, training, and other emergency preparedness issues. We were out lending a hand during the tornado of 2010, the hurricane that hit our area in 2011, and more. |
